Homework Policy
Homework is assigned to help students practice the skills and strategies they are learning at school. A monthly calendar will come home noting important events, as well as listing the nightly homework. Nightly homework generally consists of Reading, Math, and Content review. Any important assessments coming up will be noted on the calendar at least one week in advance. Students will also be expected to share one item of family, community, city, state, country, or world news with the class weekly. More information will be sent home concerning this requirement soon.
Please be sure to initial the corresponding calendar space after helping your child complete his or her homework. Calendars will be collected at the end of each month. As per school policy, homework will not be graded, but students will be rewarded for their effort. At this age, students need help to complete assignments successfully. Thank you for all that you do to support the growth of your child!
